DESCRIPTION
This historic holiday home in Arrowtown is packed full of character and colour. Built in the 1870s Off Plumb Cottage is protected as a Classified Historic Building and is a true delight.
It has been lovingly brought into the 21st century, with a vibrant living area that is cleverly balanced against a tranquil bathroom and fresh, white bedrooms – sleeping up to six people.
Approaching the cottage you’ll enjoy a sense of stepping back in time, with the sweet veranda under which you can kick-back and enjoy the peace and quiet.
You’ll be immediately charmed as you step through the front door into the bright kitchen and lounge, with its cheerful wallpaper.
A cosy fire adds atmosphere in the winter, but if you want a quick blast of warmth or cooling air in summer, there’s a heat pump on hand.
Three bedrooms (queen, single and twin – ideal for two children or one adult) and a bathroom with shower over bath are inside the main cottage.
A fourth bedroom and living space, set up with either a king or two king singles, is outside at the back of the property.
Each room complements the cottage’s historic status, with well chosen photos, illustrations, furniture and homeware on display.
Outside there’s a garden with a lovely old plum tree. Perfect for relaxing on a summer’s day with a cool drink and a BBQ.
Positioned right in the heart of Arrowtown you can walk right into the bustling town centre in a matter of minutes.
This charming holiday home has been described as “better than a hotel” and guests often tell us they wish they’d booked longer.
If you’re after a holiday home in Arrowtown with a blend of history and a modern twist, this is it!
Summer highlights: Enjoy time in the garden, with plenty of shade from the old plum tree. Grab a list of local trails and hikes from the Tourist Information Centre in the Lakes Museum and pick whichever ones take your fancy. There’s a walk for everyone.
Winter highlights: Stay snug relaxing in this characterful cottage with the fire burning. Or step out and head to Patagonia Chocolates for delicious handmade chocolates or a decadent winter-warming hot chocolate!

Yes this place is old, it’s historic and it’s lovely. With the fire going in winter we were warm and toasty and I feel the cold. Embrace the history of the place and enjoy. July 2019
